SUMMIT TO ADDRESS FUTURE OF ELECTRICITY SUPPLY
KUALA LUMPUR : The Energy Commission, Malaysia and the newly formed Energy Council of Malaysia (ECOM), will host the inaugural Electricity Summit 08 on 17-18 June at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre to address concerns over the recent and future developments of the Malaysian electricity supply industry.
James D. Boyd of the California Energy Commission will join a panel of top industry speakers including Dato Pian Sukro, Fahmi Mochtar from P.T Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) , Indonesia, Sombat Sarntijaree from Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand Dato; Sri Dr. Sulaiman Mahbob of Economic Planning Unit and many more.
Themed `Setting and Managing New Directions For Electricity Supply’ the Summit will discuss on the challenges facing the industry and explore some of the potential solutions. The Summit will also provide a platform for open dialogue with key partners and stakeholders from Government, industry players and consumers to address issues arising from high energy cost.
About 300 participants from Independent Power Provider (IPPs), government agencies, consultants, technology providers, Non-Government Organization (NGOs), financial institutions, fund manager, investment analyst and consumer group are expected to attend the Summit.
